In the face of environmental protection, cross-border cooperation may be more effective. Germany and France, including Soitec, announced on the 24th that they had successfully developed a record-breaking solar cell, the Sing Tao Daily of Hong Kong reported on September 26.

It is reported that scientific research teams including Institut Fraunhofer (ISE), CEA-LETI and Center Helmholtz of the Helmholtz Center in Berlin have successfully developed a new solar cell structure with a record efficiency of 44.7%. In the joint statement, scientists explained that this meant that 44.7 percent of the energy from ultraviolet to infrared sunlight could be converted into electricity. This is an important step towards reducing the cost of solar power and achieving a further 50% efficiency. This achievement refreshed in May this year, the team announced that the efficiency rate of 43.6%. This multi-junction "III-V" battery, using polyphotovoltaic (CPV) technology, can generate twice the power generation rate of conventional photovoltaic cells in areas with strong sunlight.

In a statement, Soitec's president, Ervey, said the technology had been developed in less than four months and that scientists and the company's experts had great potential to design "four-junction solar cells" using special bonding technology cables.
